Andrew Wright is a current Board Member of the Property Agents Board, Tasmania (www.propertyagentsboard.com.au), having being appointed by the Tasmanian Government in 2017, and reappointed in 2023 for a further three year term.

Andrew Wright is a PAST NATIONAL PRESIDENT of the Auctioneers & Valuers Association of Australia (AVAA) having been elected each year from 2002 to 2007. He is a LIFE MEMBER of the AVAA, an AVAA CERTIFIED PRACTISING VALUER and an AVAA CERTIFIED PRACTISING AUCTIONEER. The Auctioneers & Valuers Association of Australia is the recognised leading body of Auctioneers & Valuers throughout Australia. Andrew Wright has been a Licensed Auctioneer since 1984.

Andrew Wright retired as a National Director of the AVAA after serving 10 years from 1998 to 2008. He has previously been a National Director of COSBOA (Council of Small Business Organisations in Australia). He was a panel member of the Commonwealth Government's COAG skills Recognition Taskforce. He was a Senior Lecturer in both Valuation and Auction Practice for AVAA and recognized by TAFE NSW. In 2006 Andrew Wright was contracted to provide a day long lecture programme on Valuation Practice in house for one of Australia's largest Auction & Valuation Companies at their Head Office in Sydney.

Until 1991 he operated a very successful Auction and Valuation Business in Tasmania. The regular weekly room Auctions became an institution in Hobart on a Thursday evening and many varied on site Auctions including Business, House and Rural Clearance Auctions occurred. Valuations were done on behalf of Government, Public Institutions, Business and Private Individuals.

From 1991 until the end of 2000 Andrew Wright was based in Sydney having Senior Valuation and Auctioneering roles with Leading Australian Companies as well as successfully operating his own business Andrew Wright Auctioneers and Valuers.

From 2001 until June 2009 Andrew Wright operated a successful Auction & Valuation Business in Hobart which included Regular Auction Room Auctions, On Site Auctions, and a comprehensive Valuation Practice.

In June 2009 Andrew Wright accepted an offer to join Australia's largest Auction Group Pickles Auctions in Hobart as Manager of Commercial & Industrial Assets and Trucks & Machinery. In this time he conducted the monthly Truck & Machinery Auction and when required On Site Auctions as well as establishing a very successful Valuation Practice for the major Banks and Finance Companies, Insolvency Practitioners and leading Companies.

For nearly 2 years of his tenure he was Principal Auctioneer also conducting the weekly Government, Fleet & Re-Possessed Vehicle Auction. He was also the Auctioneer for the twice monthly Salvage Vehicle Auction.

On July 7, 2014 after over five years employment with Pickles Auctions, Andrew Wright resigned and ANDREW WRIGHT AUCTIONEERS & VALUERS are back in business, displaying that very personal, yet completely professional, service to Clients that Andrew has been well known for over the last 30 years.

The Valuations have been diverse extending from Commercial, Business & General Equipment and Industrial Plant and Machinery to Fine Art & Antiques.Clients range from Corporate, Government, and Business Sectors to the General Public. The Auction Sales have been successful with excellent results achieved for clients who are all important to us. We pride ourselves on the highly personalised business we operate.
